Abstracted shapes are an important element in my artwork. I like the way objects flow and intersect with one another, and I try to show this whenever possible. Also, the complimentary colors in this painting provide a lot of energy even though the subject matter is rather still. The tops of the trees reminded me of exploding fireworks, and I tried to translate some of that into the painting.
