My focus with art the last few years has been with landscapes. But, when I stumbled on these wild horses on The Outer Banks, I knew I had to paint them. I considered the ocean in the background as an equally important character in this painting. The horses were very happy cooling off at the shore, and the darker horse clearly sunk his hooves into the wet sand. Also, this is a pretty large painting, and requires a good bit of space to hang.
